THREE NEW WORKSHOPS PERFORM MAY 30, 2008 AT THE BITTER END Workshop Details: Join one of our "To The Stage Workshops", work with an experienced coordinator & you're on stage with minimal rehearsal time. . If you haven't played out in awhile, are looking to sing with a band, need a first-time stage experience & want to enjoy playing music with others, the workshop provides a fun, professional environment. Workshops fees include rehearsal time, coordinator, cd & chord charts for beginner & intermediate level, gig at a premier NY night spot, all of the gear is brought to the show & we're there to host the night of entertainment. Our workshops are announced via email in our weekly newsletter. You can go to the front page of our website & sign on to receive the newsletter. You do need to be a Studio Club member in order to participate in a workshop. We offer a $100.00 if you become a Club Member & sign on for one of the workkshops currently being offered. The Studio does monthly shows on a Friday evening at NY venues such as The Bitter End & Rebel. A workshop is essentially a band put together by The Studio & includes vocals, 2 or 3 guitars, bass, keys, drums & horns if applicable. Each workshop has a playing level & style of music. When you can become a Studio Club member & join a Workshop at the same time you receive an automatic $100.00 discount. No audition process to participate in a workshop. We're a professional organization showcasing bands at The Bitter End on a monthly basis for 10 years. Beginner – Rudimentary knowledge of your instrument. Able to keep basic time on your instrument. Intermediate - Can play a song off the sheet. Plays 2 chords to a measure & is able to keep up. Ability to keep time & improvise in certain keys. Advanced – Can play complicated chords. Ability to improvise in any key. BEGINNER Rock w/Rafael Carrasquillo Beginner Rock w/Rafael Carrasquillo - Why let the more advanced players have all the fun. True beginner workshops are not offered frequently. This workshop will consist of songs that are basically straight ahead, easy & fun to play. We’ll maximize the group’s skills & deliver a set designed specifically for beginners. A selection of songs is listed to accommodate male and/or female vocals. Rafael will make the final call on song selection based on the strengths of the band Song Selection: Can’t Get Enough – Bad Company, Jumping Jack Flash – Rolling Stones, Call Me – Blondie, Midnight Confession – Grass Roots, Working for the Weekend – Lover Boy, Wild Nights – Van Morrison, Ain’t Too Proud To Beg, Get Ready – The Temptations, Boys – The Beatles, Birthday – The Beatles Rehearsals: (12 hrs): (Saturday 5/3 & 5/10 7:00-10:00) and (Saturday 5/17 7:00-9:00) (Thursday 5/22 & 5/29 8:00 - 10:00) Needed: vocalists (female and/or male), drums, bass, guitars, and all horns Workshop Cost: $230.00 + tax Performance Night: Friday, May 30 at The Bitter End Russell Booker Experience Workshop - Intermediate Rehearsals: (10 hrs): Tuesdays 5/6 & 5/13 - 6:30-8:30; 5/20 & 5/27 – 6:30-9:30 Needed: vocalists (female and/or male), drums, bass, guitars, keys and all horns Workshop Cost: $210.00 + tax Performance Night: Friday, May 30 at The Bitter End The British Invasion & American Resistance Workshop w/Rob Watson - Beginner to Intermediate The British Invasion and The American Resistance: The band will be offered a wide selection of songs. The final set list will be determined by Rob, who will take into account the band’s wishes, but even more so, the band’s ability to play the songs. Russell’s helping us rock it out with Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Eric Clapton, Deep Purple, Bon Jovi, Chuck Berry etc. Suggested song list: You Give Love a Bad Name, Smoke On The Water, Johnny B. Goode, Comfortably Numb, I Can’t Stand It, The Letter, Unchain My Heart, Superstitions, Secret Agent Man, Hey Joe. The final set list will be determined by Russell based on the strength of the group

Payment must be received at the time you sign on for the workshop. No workshop slot is guaranteed until payment is made.
Participants are required to attend all rehearsals for the designated time. Participants are required to learn their material & attend each rehearsal fully prepared. If attendance or time conflicts arise, arrangements must be made in advance with the coordinator & The Studio.
Cancellation Policy: Once payment is made & we've confirmed your slot, fees are non-refundable unless a replacement can be found. Refunds will be pro-rated if a replacement is found.
Instrumentalists are only guaranteed a slot for their particular instrument, not lead vocals as well.
Guests at the Performance Night. When signing on for the workshop you have an obligation as part of the workshop band to provide guests at the venue. Remember, we have a business obligation to the venue & this is why we're able to book shows on a Friday evening. There is no “Guest List” at this venue.
